An Authentic Natural Golf Links Along the Northumberland Coast

Goswick is a bit remote. But that’s actually one of the many attributes that makes it so special. Here are a few more:

  • One of the world’s few pure fescue golf links with fairways that deliver a lively bounce and greens that roll fast and true all year-round.
  • One of the top 100 links golf courses in Great Britain and Ireland according to Golf World.
  • One of the top 50 golf courses of all kinds in England according to National Club Golfer.

A Regional Qualifying Venue for The Open Championship

Goswick is one of just 15 golf courses selected by the Royal & Ancient to serve as a regional qualifying venue for The Open Championship. It has since hosted this prestigious event eight times, most recently in 2023.

Goswick’s natural canvas of tumbling turf and panoramic views must be experienced to be fully appreciated. Until then, we invite you to take this flyover tour that's certain to whet your golfing appetite.

Our Rich History - 130 Years and Counting

On the evening of Friday 21st October 1889, several local enthusiasts of the suddenly booming game of golf met at the King’s Arms Hotel in Berwick-upon-Tweed. The sole purpose was ‘to consider a scheme to organize a golf club.’ And so began the story of Goswick Golf Links.

A Sublime James Braid Golf Course Design

Over Goswick’s storied history, it has taken the genius of such renowned course designers as Tom Dunn, Willie Park Jr, James Braid, Frank Pennick and – soon – Tom Mackenzie to transform our rugged sand dunes into a refined links masterpiece.

Our Commitment to Sustainability

Our links not only gives rise to golf in its most exhilarating form. It is also part of a sweeping natural landscape we feel compelled to nurture and care to the benefit of the flora and fauna that call it home.
